The candidates you want aren’t reading job boards.
Ryugaku+ is a pool of Japanese speakers who already live and work in Metro Vancouver, with valid work authorization. Most are not actively job hunting — they are open to better hours, better pay, or a different industry, if the offer comes to them.

Who is in the pool
Already here, already working.
- Already living and working in Metro Vancouver, with valid work authorization
- Not actively job hunting — but open to better hours, better pay, or a different industry
- Looking for additional shifts or a second job alongside current work
- Japanese-speaking, with varying levels of English
Roles that fit best today are in food service, retail, hospitality and operations — the work this group is actually doing while they build toward something else.
Where we draw the line
What we don’t promise.
- We never charge job seekers for access to work. Candidate-side registration is free.
- We do not guarantee placements, hires, or any particular candidate volume.
- We are not a recruitment agency and do not hold a licence to act as one.
We are a non-profit society, and this community is the reason we exist. That constrains what we are willing to sell, and we would rather say so up front than walk it back later.
